μMA - Wireless Micro Modular Data Acquisition and Recording System

μMA - Flight Test Data Acquisition Unit

μMA - Airborne Data Acquisition Unit

Introduction:

The μMA is a modular data acquisition and recording system equally suited both as a tool for airborne troubleshooting and as a component in a traditional flight test instrumentation suite.

Wireless communication and an integrated μSD memory card permit rapid deployment, saving cable runs, time and money.  Simply select an acquisition cell to match the sensors, screw onto a controller cell, fasten in place close to the sensors, and configure wirelessly from a laptop PC.  And when those sensors are in constrained environments, you'll be grateful for the μMA's 24 mm diameter.

Truly autonomous, the μMA can be powered from the aircraft or optional μMA battery cells. Multiple μMA devices can be linked with each other or to an XMA acquisition system or MDR data recorder.

Key Advantages:

  • Minimal intrusion to the test vehicle (less wires or no wires at all).

  • Minimal installation and removal effort due to very small and cylindric form factor requiring a standard clamp.

  • Autonomous power supply (long-life battery) and wireless connectivity removes the need of installing any cable or harness in the aircraft.

  • Continues the push towards digitization as close as possible to the sensor.

  • Tool for a wide variety of use cases (from a single stand-alone measurement to 100’s of μMA integrated in a complex network).

  • DO-160G / MIL-STD-810G compliant, with operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C, and altitude to 70,000 ft.

Configuration:

The μMA is designed on a modular architecture based on acquisition cell, controller cell, and internal or external battery cell. N.B. Future controller cells are planned to support Power over Ethernet.
