Remote Head Video Camera

Photo-Sonics have recently introduced a new Remote Head Video Camera. It employs a two-piece design with the optical periscope and electronic control unit (ECU) separated with a ruggedized electronic cable assembly. This reduces the space envelope required to mount the camera. This means it can easily be installed on existing aircraft undergoing upgrade or on aircraft, which have never previously used a video camera in the cockpit. The selection of 2 focal lengths and sealed or unsealed lens periscopes offers integration into most aircraft configurations.

  • Two-piece camera operates on +28VDC.
  • Can be utilized on day or low-light-level missions.
  • Provides an Automatic AGC extending the low light level recording capability.
  • The new periscope looks directly through the combining glass of the HUD. The look angle is determined by the periscope mounting bracket, then the resulting video accurately records “What the Pilot Saw”.
  • No Boresighting errors.
  • This system will provide target definition ranges of 5,000-6,000 feet slant ranges.
  • The electronics, lenses, and all other parts of the system are completely interchangeable.
